Blount Memorial Weight Management Center program is a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence
 The surgical weight-loss component of the Blount Memorial Weight Management Center program has been named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. Since launching its bariatric surgery program in 2002, Blount Memorial has helped patients lose collectively more than 75,000 pounds ‚or 25 tons ‚and resolve conditions related to morbid obesity such as diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea.
The Weight Management Center offers four metabolic and weight loss surgical approaches for qualified candidates:
Before, during and after each procedure, the center's staff provides 24-hour telephone nursing support to patients who have questions about the procedure or after-care instructions. Patients also have the ongoing support of the center's staff and fellow program participants through bariatric and weight loss surgery-specific support groups and a patient ambassadors program.
