Blount Memorial’s in-house and outpatient laboratories meet the nation’s highest standards for quality, efficiency and customer service

Blount Memorial Hospital’s division of pathology and laboratory medicine provides the community with state-of-the-art laboratory services in both in-house and outpatient locations.

Hospital-based Services

The hospital’s in-house laboratories operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services include:

• Anatomic pathology: autopsy service, cytology, hematopathology and surgical pathology
• Chemistry
• Endocrinology
• Hematology
• Immunology
• Microbiology
• Serology
• Transfusion medicine
• Urinalysis and clinical microscopy

Outpatient Services

The Blount Memorial Outpatient Laboratory is conveniently located at 2032 Professional Park in Maryville. This patient-friendly facility provides easy access to expert, outpatient laboratory testing. Samples for any testing not available on-site are collected and forwarded immediately to another facility. Available services include:

• Chemistry
• Hematology
• Immunology
• Urinalysis and clinical microscopy

The Blount Memorial laboratories are fully licensed and accredited by the following:
