By getting a yearly mammogram starting at age 40, women can help detect breast cancer in its earliest and most-treatable stages.
To help make mammograms more affordable, the Blount Memorial Breast Health Center is offering discount screening certificates for $229. The certificate covers both the mammogram and the radiologist’s interpretation fees, but does not include any additional diagnostic fees. The certificates are intended for women over age 40 who have no history of breast cancer, no breast implants and no breast problems.
The certificates will be available Monday-Friday, Oct. 20-24 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Breast Health Center, located on the fourth floor of the hospital’s Physician Office Building. Certificates are valid for one year, and appointments can be scheduled either at the time of purchase or at a later date.
