Prisma Health Total Rehabilitation professional development coordinator Joe Black was elected secretary of the ICCUS Society at the group’s July 2025 annual meeting, which took place in Nashville.
The ICCUS Society is a group of clinicians, educators and researchers from around the world who are among the most experienced and well-respected practitioners in sports rehabilitation. Each summer, the group meets for two days of critical thinking, research and in-depth discussions about how to best provide athletic health care. The ICCUS Society is comprised of 56 members who represent sports at all levels and athletes of all ages. Black has been a member of the group since 2009.
Black holds a doctorate in physical therapy and also is a certified athletic trainer. He sees patients as part of Prisma Health Total Rehabilitation-Cherokee.
