Blount Memorial's Mitten Tree Returns

The Blount Memorial Hospital emergency department’s annual “mitten tree” is back for another season of bringing warmth to those in need.

Each year, instead of ornaments and lights, the tree is decorated with new scarves, gloves, hats and other winter weather clothing items, all of which are free to be taken by anyone who needs them, with no questions asked or money exchanged.

The “mitten tree” is just inside the emergency room waiting area, and will remain up for the next couple of months with emergency department staff members “redecorating” the tree with new items as needed.

If you would like to donate items for the "mitten tree," please contact the Blount Memorial Foundation at 865-977-5727.
