Blount Memorial Establishes Coronavirus Info Hotline

UPDATE: Due to decreased call volumes, Blount Memorial's coronavirus information line has been deactivated as of Wednesday, April 15, 2020. We will continue to reevaluate coronavirus activity in our community and may reopen the information line if it is deemed necessary. Those with questions related to coronavirus symptoms, testing and care should contact their primary care physician.

Blount Memorial Hospital has opened an information line for members of the community with questions about the COVID-19 coronavirus, offering details on symptoms, testing and treatment.

The information line is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 865-273-4292. Using this line, callers will be able to access:

  • Up-to-date information on COVID-19 symptoms, self-monitoring and self-isolation practices
  • If necessary, directions to locations for testing and treatment
  • Information on Blount Memorial policies, appointments, and individual office or site closings.

This is not a screening call center. Anyone experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, should call their primary care provider.

“We realize that there is a lot of information – and misinformation – out there right now about coronavirus,” said Blount Memorial chief medical officer Dr. Harold Naramore. “That’s why we’re devoting resources to helping our community deal with this situation by arming them with facts and accurate information so that everyone who has questions can get those questions answered,” he said.
