Blount Memorial Hospital is continuing to grow its temporary nurse hiring program, adding new specialties and extending the ability of experienced nursing assistants to turn their time into money.
The current 13-week temporary employment program offers registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who agree to work three 12-hour shifts per week a flat hourly rate of $50 per hour for RNs and $40 per hour for LPNs. The hospital now is extending the program to include certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and patient care technicians (PCTs). CNAs and PCTs who agree to work a minimum of 24 hours per week will receive a flat hourly rate of $22 per hour for CNAs and $21 per hour for PCTs. Candidates must have a minimum of six months of acute care and/or nursing home experience.
The program offers day, night and combination shifts, and hours will be assigned on an as-needed basis. Because these are temporary positions, benefits are not included.
At the end of the 13-week commitment, there may be an opportunity to extend – or even consider regular employment opportunities.
